We left the cabin on the hill a little before noon today. However, last evening we got to see a lightning storm to our north and east. It was just before sunset and it was interesting to watch the lightning which was above behind the clouds and see the sun reflecting from the clouds that were at higher elevations. We did not get any rain nor could we hear the thunder, but we certainly did get to watch a beautiful lightning show with cloud to cloud as well as cloud to ground flashes.

We drove the 40+ miles to Polk, NE to the very nice city park that has 2 full hookup sites. Our friends the Drew's are in the other space. He takes care of the park during the summer months.

We will be here until Friday when we will travel to Salina, KS for a hamfest on Sunday. While in the area we will go to Abilene to visit the Presidential Library and Museum. Then, we will be off to Colorado and Golden for another hamfest on the following weekend. We will explore the town of Polk a bit more tomorrow as it is quite warm this afternoon, some 88+ degrees with a lot of humidity.

The photos are of the storm clouds last night and our new parking spot in the city park at Polk, NE.
