Monday was sunny but cool in the morning, but the sun soon warmed things up. We are expecting cloudy weather and maybe some rain for Thanksgiving, snow in the upper elevations. Not a lot going on today. Evelyn has a meeting at the club house to plan for the Thanksgiving dinner. The park furnishes the turkey and gravy and everyone pays $2.00 and signs up at a table and then each table furnishes the remainder of the meal for each table. Friday there will be a pitch in to help eat all of the leftovers. Evelyn is to bring a cranberry salad and green beans. We went to Walmart and picked up a gallon of green beans and we put in some ham and some onions and a secret ingredient. That was probably more than we needed but they are always good frozen and warmed up another day.
Tuesday was cool and cloudy. The sun was out a few times but mostly cloudy. We got our hair cut at 11am and did some more shopping and back to the park. At social hour we met a really neat couple from Wisconsin. He is a retired police officer and a very interesting guy. They had been on the road for several years full time and are now only part time travelers, spending summers in Wisconsin and winters in the south west. This year they will winter in Yuma, AZ. Back home for some warm dinner and watch a bit of TV and go to bed.
Wednesday was a cooking day getting things ready for Thanksgiving. Cloudy and cool most of the day with rain during the night but not a lot going on during the day.
Thursday, we finished up our cooking and went to the clubhouse about 2pm to get ready for the big feast. All were there a bit before three o'clock for a delicious meal. Each table of 6 to 8 people had a large pan of turkey and gravy as well as all of the great dishes that were brought in. The turkey was delicious and the guys that roasted them had been at it since early morning. Needless to say, we all ate more than we should have.
Friday evening we met again at 5pm to try to eat all of the leftovers. This time it was a buffet with all of the dishes brought in on the same table so you could sample them all. I must say there was some delicious food called left overs. Again, we all ate too much and the remainder of the turkey was frozen for another day. The Dream Catcher park really knows how to put together a nice Thanksgiving dinner.
Saturday was cool but bright and sunny. Not a lot going on around the park. Several took short trips to some of the outlying areas.
Our photo is of a 17% grade in the Canyon springs state park. It is really 17% up and the same down the other side. Not something you would want to do in your RV.
