Another nice day at Deming. We finally got away from Dream Catcher and headed into town. We thought we had a problem with the left front tire as it checked low in pressure. We stopped at the campground air compressor and after putting in some air?? Evelyn checked it and it was down to 70psi. Not good, so we drove into town to the Tinley-T tire shop that had been recommended by someone we met in Elephant Butte said they were the best. We pulled up in front and a guy said to drive around the building and pull into the last bay and he would check it. He said, we will probably have to take it off to check it. He removed the wheel and checked it and did not find any leaks. He aired it up to 100psi and it did not show any leaks. He reinstalled it and aired up the other front tire and all 4 of the rear tires. He then said we were good to go. When I asked him how much I owed him, he said "nothing, just have a nice day" I certainly could deal with that. What a nice place to do business. Those people are few and far between.
We finally got out of town about 11am and headed west on I10. The road was good and smooth and not a lot of traffic, other than semis, so the travel was comfortable. We were headed to Lordsburg to visit with Harry our friend in the nursing home. We visited with him for a while and it was getting late and time for him to eat supper, so as we left we asked if we could stay the night in the parking lot and they said that it would be fine if we did so. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset over the mountains to the west of Lordsburg and worked late as we had a good internet connection and was behind on the blog and other business that needed to be taken care of. Did not get to bed until about 9pm, nothing worthwhile on TV, so off to sleep.
Tuesday morning was cool but sunny and we had some phone calls to make and finish things up on the Internet and finally got away from Lordsburg about 10:30am. We headed west on I10 toward Tucson, AZ. When we crossed into Arizona, the road narrowed a couple of feet and was a bit rough.
Our photo is from a rest area on I10 at Texas Canyon. All of the mountains so far had been jagged rock outcroppings but when you get to Texas Canyon, the rocks are round and smooth and look like they had just been piled up one on the other. Many look like they could tumble down at any time. A very interesting change in the landscape. The rest area is at the top of a pass and on the west side is the desert. We took the long way to our campground as there is a lot of construction on I10 in Tucson as there was last February when we were here. We are in the Miracle RV park, maybe because it is a miracle we found it, but it is just off Miracle Mile, on the north side of Tucson. We will meet with the Fedderly's tomorrow for lunch and visit with them for a while and maybe take a driving tour of the region to the south down toward Mexico.
